Dr. Todd R. Wurth
attended Murray State University in Kentucky, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville Medical School in 1998, and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Wurth then spent five years in orthopedic residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, and he served part time as team physician to the Indianapolis Indians, an AAA major league baseball team, and to an inner city high school football team. He performed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity, and micro vascular surgery with two of the top hand surgeons in the country, Dr. Mark E. Baratz and Dr. Dean G. Sotereanos, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Wurth said he was attracted to his specialty because, “I take a great deal of pleasure out of improving someone’s life.” Handling trauma of the extremities, he added, “can have an immediate impact by helping people restore function and activities to their daily lives." He and his wife have 2 children.
