Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a chronic, generalized pain syndrome of unknown origin. FMS pain may be debilitating at times. In addition, FMS patients are often affected by other symptoms / conditions including: chronic fatigue, abnormal sleep architecture, irritable bowel syndrome, frequent headaches, chest pain, chronic pelvic pain, temporomandibular joint pain and a variety of neuropsychiatric disturbances such as depression, anxiety and memory problems. While dealing with this widespread condition is daunting, advances have been made in the management of FMS.
The Bone & Joint Clinic sponsors an FMS Support Group. The mission of this group is to serve as a source of information, emotional support and healing awareness for patients and families dealing with FMS. Education is provided—in part—by health care professionals, but the majority of learning is accomplished through shared patient stories. Finally, no commercial interests are represented at these FMS Support Group meetings.
If you are somehow affected by FMS, you are invited to the next FMS Support Group meeting. Admission is free and no reservation is required.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the lobby of the Bone & Joint Clinic at 206 Bedford Way, Franklin, TN. Meetings start at 6:00 p.m. and last for about 2 hours. For more information, call Jana Thune at 615-790-3290 or visit our website at
