MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This is a test that allows your physician to see detailed images of the inside of your body. It uses strong magnets and radio waves together, to form a clear, sharp image. The magnets and radio waves are completely harmless.

PATIENT TIPS FOR MRI's

• Before your test, please remove your watch, jewelry, and other metal objects on your body. This is due to the strong magnets uses during testing.

• Talk to the technologist about any metal objects that are in your body. This is because the magnets might move them during testing.

• Notify the technician if you have or have had any previous surgery, a pacemaker or any other implants, metal splinters, tattoos, if you are pregnant or have a possibility of being pregnant or claustrophobia.
